Computer System Requirements
- Computer Processor, Memory, and Operating System: Sufficient
to satisfactorily run a recent version of Internet Explorer,
and any other required software.
- Internet Service Provider: Any Internet service provider
will work if it provides reliable access to the Internet.
- Internet Browser: Recent version of Internet Explorer
with Java, Javascript, and ActiveX enabled.
Also, select the "enable cookies" setting on your browser.
- E-mail Account: In order to participate in a PUC CyberCourse,
you need your own e-mail account. Your instructor and
other class participants will have access to your e-mail address.
If
you prefer not to use your primary e-mail address for your course,
you can obtain a free e-mail account from a variety of companies,
including:
- Virus Protection: Because you may choose to share documents
and files via e-mail, you must have current anti-virus software
properly installed on your computer. Your teacher and other students
will not enjoy receiving a computer virus from you! Update
your virus protection regularly.
- Software: Some courses require specific applications
or plug-ins. Please see the online course description for specific
system requirements for your course.
Also helpful:
- Sound card and speakers (or headset).
- Printer.
- Access to a telephone and FAX machine.
- Adobe®
Acrobat® Reader™. (This is free, and freely distributable,
software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document
Format (PDF) files.)
